Mike Dunn is a former  British national newspaper executive, who has known Kevin for around 18 years. He believes their friendship helped give Kevin the confidence and strength of character to talk so openly and honestly about the deeply personal and disturbing events in his life.

Mike was head of sport for the News of the World for 13 years and then moved into the same role at The Sun for seven years. Most recently he was head of sport for The Independent, the i newspaper and London's Evening Standard.

Previously, he wrote On the Edge, an account of how former Stockport County manager David Jones led the club to promotion. He is also a parent, and believes that was the single most important qualification for the telling of Kevin’s story.
